Issouf Sissokho, one of Maccabi Tel Aviv’s key players, is being linked with a move to Spain. According to journalist Xavi Jorquera of esportbase, Levante have included the Malian midfielder on their shortlist, and Elche are also interested.
The report says Sissokho has one year left on his contract, but he wants to leave Maccabi Tel Aviv already this summer. Levante and Elche both earned promotion to La Liga in summer 2025 and managed to stay up last season, finishing 16th and 15th respectively.
Levante already has another familiar name to Israeli fans, Tai Abed, who joined from PSV Eindhoven. Sissokho, 24, is a defensive central midfielder who has represented Mali at youth level.
He joined Maccabi Tel Aviv in summer 2024 on a three-year deal, with the club holding an option to extend the contract by one more season. Since then, he has helped the team win the league title in the previous season and the cup last season.
