Dan Glazer appears headed back to Maccabi Tel Aviv after last-minute twist
Dan Glazer is now expected to return to Maccabi Tel Aviv, despite having recently held talks with Beitar Jerusalem on a two-year deal. The midfielder, who played last season for Kairat, had asked to be released so he could sign with the team linked to Almog Cohen, but Beitar entered the picture at the last moment.
According to the report, Beitar is furious that Glazer cut off contact in the past 24 hours and fears the change is connected to his decision to choose Maccabi Tel Aviv. The club from Jerusalem does not plan to wait for him beyond the start of next week.
Beitar had originally hoped to sign Dor Peretz, but after he extended his Maccabi Tel Aviv contract by three years, it turned to Glazer. Beitar offered him 270,000 euros per season, while Maccabi responded with an improved offer of 350,000 euros per year for three years.
If Glazer also slips away, Beitar will continue searching for an Israeli midfielder. Its preferred alternative is Shay Elias, who won the league title last season with Hapoel Be'er Sheva.
