Ariel Mandy Agrees Terms with Hapoel Haifa
Left back Ariel Mandy has agreed to join Hapoel Haifa and is expected to continue in the Israeli Premier League after being released by M.S. Ashdod, which was relegated to the National League. The 31-year-old Senegalese defender is set to be officially signed once Hapoel Haifa finalizes its split with Sana Gomes.
According to the report, Hapoel Haifa will soon announce the end of Gomes’ stint after he told club officials he will not come to Israel for the team’s preseason training camp. The club and the player have reached an arrangement under which he will be waived from the contract he had already activated, Gomes will be released, and only then Mandy will be added to the squad.
Mandy joined Beitar Jerusalem last summer, started the season there, but was injured, lost his place in the lineup to Yarden Cohen, and was released in January. He then moved to M.S. Ashdod and finished the season there, but the team was relegated. Across all competitions last season, he made 24 appearances and scored one goal.
