Ariel Mendy Signs One-Year Deal with Hapoel Haifa with Option to Extend
Hapoel Haifa announced the signing of Senegalese defender Ariel Mendy on June 27, 2026. The club from Haifa secured Mendy on a one-year contract with an option for an additional season. This marks Mendy's third Israeli club, following stints at Beitar Jerusalem and M.S. Ashdod.
Prior to joining the Israeli Premier League, the 31-year-old defender played in France's second division for Lens and Grenoble and has made four appearances for the Senegal national team. The club also confirmed the mutual termination of Sana Gomez's contract.
Hapoel Haifa owner Yoav Katz commented on the signing, stating, "We continue to build the team together. We have brought in an experienced player with a respectable international record who will help us have a successful season."
