Bonzie Colson Returns to Maccabi Tel Aviv on a Two-Year Deal
Bonzie Colson is returning to Maccabi Tel Aviv after two seasons with Fenerbahce and a EuroLeague title there. The 30-year-old forward, who became a fan favorite during his first two years in Tel Aviv, signed a two-year contract and is expected to earn $1.5 million per season, the same salary he received in Turkey.
According to the report, Colson was open to coming back from the start of negotiations about a month ago because he still felt strong affection for the club and its supporters. That emotional connection to Maccabi and the Yellow fans was one of the main factors behind his decision.
Two other figures were central to the move, professional manager Claudio Coldebella and coach Oded Kattash. Coldebella pushed to bring Colson back, while Kattash wanted the player strongly and had built the team around him for the 2026/27 season. Colson also spoke with Kattash several times over the past month, and the coach’s continued presence at Maccabi was important to him.
The report says several other clubs showed interest in Colson, but Maccabi’s management did not want to miss the chance to bring back one of the biggest foreign club icons of the past decade.
