Maccabi Tel Aviv is nearing a major roster move, according to club director and businessman Eric Shatilman, who spoke Thursday on the radio show "5 Ba'Air." Shatilman said he expects a new player to be announced within the next three or four days, adding that the team has been very active in the market over recent weeks and wants to complete its roster by mid-July.
Asked whether Bonzie Colson would be the first signing, Shatilman would not confirm it, but said it was "not far from reality." The comment has fueled speculation that the former Maccabi forward is close to returning to the club.
Shatilman also outlined Maccabi's broader plans, saying the team wants to compete for a top-six finish. He said, "Within three weeks we will have two more centers," and added that fans should be "very surprised" by the second five players who will be in place by July 15.
The remarks suggest Maccabi is preparing for several additions in the coming days and weeks, with the club aiming to finish its squad quickly ahead of the new season.
