Draymond Green Praises Deni Avdija's NBA Ascent

NBA player Draymond Green hosted Israeli forward Deni Avdija on his podcast, "The Draymond Green Show," where Green expressed significant admiration for Avdija's development and impact in the league. Green highlighted Avdija's transformation from a promising young player to an "All-Star" caliber player, noting his impressive averages of 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists during a recent stint in Portland. He recalled watching Avdija's career unfold from his draft selection by Washington to establishing himself in the NBA.

Green reminisced about their on-court matchups, admitting with a smile that Avdija made things difficult for him and his team during the past season in Portland. He specifically praised Avdija's ability to drive to the basket, describing it as being as strong as any player he has ever seen. Green also connected with Avdija's revelation about how advice from Chauncey Billups to rebound and run the floor unlocked his game, sharing that this strategy is also key to his own playing style.

The Golden State Warriors star further commended Avdija's aggressive, physical style of play, suggesting it is well-suited for the intensity of playoff basketball. Green recalled a past physical encounter where Avdija did not back down, stating he appreciates players willing to compete to the fullest. Green also touched upon Avdija's standing in his home country, calling him potentially the greatest basketball player Israel has ever produced based on his achievements.

Concluding the interview, Green summarized his impression of Avdija's journey, acknowledging the immense work required to become one of the toughest players in the NBA and expressing joy in seeing players achieve such success.
