A woman, identified as Nania Melda, approximately 40 years old, was found dead from multiple stab wounds in Beer Sheva early Sunday morning, October 11. Her ex-husband, who called the police himself and confessed, "I killed my wife," has been arrested on suspicion of the murder. The couple's five-year-old son was reportedly in the apartment at the time of the incident. Emergency services received the call at 1:42 AM, and paramedics found the victim unconscious with numerous penetrating wounds. She was transported to Soroka Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Police detained the ex-husband at the scene and have launched an investigation. Initial reports indicate no prior domestic violence calls were made regarding this family. The couple had three children: the five-year-old son, and two older children aged 16 and 20. The younger son, who neighbors say has an autism spectrum disorder, was placed under the care of municipal and police representatives outside the home following the incident. According to Alko Melsa, the victim's cousin, Nania and her ex-husband were married for 25 years but divorced several months ago. Melsa stated that the victim's relatives believe signs of the impending murder were evident beforehand, with the daughter reportedly recalling her father threatening to kill her mother. Neighbors described Nania Melda as a friendly woman and a caring mother who was active in the building's committee, and they reported no previous sounds of arguments from the apartment. The investigation is ongoing, with the ex-husband remaining the primary suspect. The victim's mother and sister live in Ethiopia, and relatives are hoping they can attend the funeral.
