A chilling account has emerged regarding the murder of Nania Melda in Beersheba, where her 5-year-old son called a neighbor for help as his mother was being fatally stabbed. The neighbor, Esther, described the incident as shocking, stating, "Her son called me, he wanted us to save her. It's hard to speak about her in the past tense." Esther also noted that the victim's husband had always seemed strange, while Melda was a good mother and neighbor who actively managed the building's affairs.

The murder occurred around 1:30 AM in the family's apartment on Bnei Or Street in Beersheba. Authorities suspect Melda's husband, in his 40s, repeatedly stabbed her. Following the act, he allegedly called the police hotline himself, reporting, "I murdered my wife."

Police and Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics arrived at the scene to find Melda unconscious with numerous stab wounds. She was rushed to Soroka Hospital in critical condition, where she was pronounced dead despite resuscitation efforts. The husband was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. The couple had three children, aged 5, 16, and 20. Police stated there was no prior history of domestic violence in the family.

The Michal Sela Forum reported that 21 people have been murdered in Israel this year due to domestic violence, including 14 women, 11 of whom were killed by their partners.
