A woman in her 40s was found dead from stab wounds in her Beer Sheva apartment early Sunday morning. Her husband, also in his 40s, was arrested by police on suspicion of stabbing her to death.
Magen David Adom (MDA) received a report at 1:42 AM about a woman injured in a violent incident in the southern city. Paramedics arriving at the scene found her unconscious with multiple penetrating wounds. They provided life-saving medical treatment and transported her in critical condition to Soroka Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
"We were led to the woman who was unconscious with many penetrating wounds on her body. We provided her with medical treatment including stopping bleeding and administering medication and evacuated her in an MDA intensive care unit to the hospital while she was unconscious and in critical condition," said MDA paramedic Yarin Ben David and senior medic Rafael Cohen.
Beer Sheva police officers arrested the woman's husband at the scene. Investigators began collecting testimonies and evidence from the apartment. The couple had three children, aged 5, 16, and 20. The youngest, the 5-year-old, was in the apartment during the incident. About two hours later, the child remained outside the building, accompanied by city and police officials who tried to comfort him.
Initial police investigation indicates no prior reports of domestic violence between the couple, and the circumstances of the case are under investigation.
