Genesis has officially launched the GV60 Magma in Israel, marking the debut of its performance-oriented Magma division. While based on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, the GV60 Magma offers a more refined and luxurious experience.

The Magma division, announced two and a half years ago, aims to compete with performance sub-brands like Mercedes-AMG, BMW M, and Audi RS. The GV60 Magma is the first vehicle from this division, applying the performance treatment previously given to the Ioniq 5 by Hyundai's N division, but tailored to Genesis's luxury ethos, emphasizing daily usability and ride quality.

In Israel, the GV60 Magma is priced at approximately NIS 600,000, which is NIS 170,000 more than the top-tier all-wheel-drive GV60 Sapphire and NIS 190,000 more than the Ioniq 5 N.

The vehicle features a dual-motor electric powertrain delivering a combined output of up to 650 horsepower and 80.5 kgfm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 264 km/h. It is equipped with an 84 kWh (80 kWh net) NCM battery providing a range of 425 km, with fast charging capability up to 350 kW, allowing an 18-minute charge from 10% to 80%. The car also includes features like regenerative braking controlled by steering wheel paddles and a one-pedal driving mode.

Performance enhancements include an electronic limited-slip rear differential, adaptive suspension with road-scanning technology, a 20mm lower ride height compared to the standard GV60, a virtual gear shifting system, a drift mode, launch control, and an upgraded braking system with 400mm front discs and four-piston calipers. A synthetic sound feature is also included.

Visually, the GV60 Magma sports aggressive bumpers, side skirts, a rear spoiler, blacked-out trim, and 21-inch black wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires. Optional matte paint finishes and a "Magma Orange" color are available, along with forged 21-inch wheels. The interior boasts electric sport seats with heating, ventilation, and memory functions, an electrically adjustable steering wheel, heated rear seats, and premium upholstery with orange stitching. It features a 27-inch integrated screen for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, displaying unique Magma graphics and performance data. Additional amenities include a head-up display, auto-dimming and heated side mirrors, a rearview video display, 360-degree cameras, wireless charging, an electric tailgate, a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, ambient lighting, acoustic front and rear windows, and road noise cancellation. The safety suite is comprehensive, earning an 8 out of 8 rating from the Ministry of Transport, and includes 10 airbags, matrix LED lighting, blind-spot detection with intervention, and a sensor-based child reminder system.
