Netanyahu Praises Heroes Who Thwarted Deadly Plane Attack

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday lauded the passengers and crew of a flight from Dubai to Israel who prevented a catastrophic incident. As the plane neared Israeli airspace, one pilot reportedly stabbed the other and attempted to crash the aircraft. According to Netanyahu, who spoke with a passenger, a "heroic" individual among those on board, along with a crew member, breached the cockpit. They subdued the assailant pilot, who had sabotaged the plane's systems, and prevented the disaster. Another crew member then managed to stabilize the aircraft and land it safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. "I salute these heroes who showed extraordinary resourcefulness and courage. They saved many lives, they prevented a heavy disaster," Netanyahu stated. He confirmed all passengers were safe, the stabbing pilot was arrested and is being questioned by Saudi authorities, and that Israel is in continuous contact with relevant parties to ensure the safe and swift return of the Israelis home.
