Young Israeli Soccer Team Wins Debut for Rising Star Oryan Goren

Oryan Goren made his debut for Israel's U-21 national soccer team on Tuesday evening in their 3-2 victory against Slovenia. Goren, who plays for Barcelona Athletic, started in central midfield alongside Niv Yehoshua and Ran Benjamin. He played against more experienced Slovenian players, including Luka Topalovic, valued at three million euros, and Nike Vihar, both of whom are significantly taller and older than Goren.

Despite the age and experience gap, Goren performed well in his first international appearance under coach Guy Luzon. Israel held possession for 50% of the game and had eight shots on target, matching Slovenia's output. Goren was substituted in the 69th minute by Navot Ratner, with Israel trailing 2-1 at the time.

Israel ultimately secured the 3-2 win. Goren, who recently played for Ofir Haim's U-19 national team, is expected to potentially play in the U-21 team's next match against Norway in a week.

This debut marks a significant step for Goren, who is taking his first professional strides in football.
