Israeli Teen Oriyan Goren Makes Barcelona First-Team Debut at 17

Seventeen-year-old Israeli footballer Oriyan Goren made his first appearance for FC Barcelona's senior team during a preseason friendly match. Goren, who trains at Barcelona's famed La Masia academy, was substituted in by head coach Xavi Hernandez in a game against Europa CE as part of the Spanish champions' training camp. The camp includes several friendly matches ahead of the new season.

This season, Goren has established himself as a key player for Barcelona's youth team in the UEFA Youth League, competing against players two years his senior and earning playing time even in a loss to Maccabi Haifa. He has previously trained with the senior squad multiple times, but this summer's training camp provided his first major opportunity to feature in a first-team match.

Goren's debut follows a similar path to that of Israeli player Guy Assulin, who in 2009 trained with Barcelona's first team under Pep Guardiola and participated in preseason matches including the Wembley Cup against Tottenham and Al Ahly. Goren's progression highlights the club's continued integration of promising youth players into the senior ranks.
