Orion Goren Debuts for Israel U21 in Victory Over Slovenia

Orion Goren, a young talent from Barcelona, made his debut for the Israeli under-21 national football team on Tuesday evening in a match against Slovenia. Goren, playing in central midfield alongside more defensive players Niv Yehoshua and Ran Benjamin, faced significantly older and physically larger opponents, including Luka Topalovic, valued at three million euros, and Nike Vihar. Despite the age and experience gap, Goren performed well in his first appearance for coach Guy Luzon's squad.

Israel secured a 3-2 victory in the match. Goren was substituted in the 69th minute by Navot Ratner, with Israel trailing 2-1 at the time. The team held possession for 50% of the game and registered eight shots on target, matching Slovenia's tally.

Goren, who currently plays for Barcelona Athletic and is taking his first steps in professional football, previously played for Ofir Haim's youth national team. He is expected to potentially play in the U21 team's next match against Norway in a week.

Many of the players on the Israeli U21 team are already playing professionally, with some being considerably older and taller than Goren.
