Barcelona Prospect Orian Goren Called Up to Israel U21 Squad
Seventeen-year-old Orian Goren, a promising talent playing for Spanish club Barcelona, has been called up to the Israel U21 national football team for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers. Goren, who has already trained with Barcelona's senior team and plays for their reserve squad, is considered a rising star.
The call-up comes ahead of two crucial matches for the Israeli youth team. They will face Slovenia in a "last chance" game for second place in their qualifying group, which would secure a spot in the Euro 2027 tournament. Following the Slovenia match, Israel will play group leaders Norway.
Coach Guy Luzon announced the squad on Wednesday. In addition to Goren, other notable call-ups include Ran Benjamin, who plays in the American MLS for Dallas, and Tai Abed, who recently joined Spanish club Real Valladolid.
