Sakhnin Prepares to Mark October Uprising Anniversary with Memorial Events

The municipality of Sakhnin and the Popular Committee have convened a preparatory meeting to organize events commemorating the anniversary of the October Uprising. The anniversary falls on Saturday, October 3, 2026, and will involve residents, popular delegations, and the public. The commemoration program in Sakhnin includes several stages, beginning with visits to the homes of martyrs' families in the morning and culminating in a central march in Arraba.

The day's events are scheduled to start at 9:00 AM with a gathering at Sakhnin Municipality Square, followed by visits to the families of those killed. At 10:30 AM, participants will convene at the memorial monument to lay wreaths on the graves of Sakhnin's martyrs. Later, at 2:30 PM, the Follow-up Committee for the Affairs of the Arab Population in Israel is expected to arrive at the Sakhnin memorial to lay wreaths. At 3:00 PM, a public march will commence from the municipality square, proceeding on foot towards Arraba to join other participating delegations.

The central march to commemorate the October Uprising will begin in Arraba at 4:00 PM, with the participation of crowds and delegations from various Arab towns. The Sakhnin Municipality and the Popular Committee are urging residents to attend all stages of the commemoration to honor the martyrs of the October Uprising, preserve their memory, and maintain collective remembrance. They emphasize that broad participation is crucial for expressing loyalty to the martyrs and ensuring their memory remains alive.
