Major Accident on Highway 6 Injures 18, Causes Severe Traffic
A significant traffic accident involving eight vehicles occurred on Highway 6 northbound between the Iron and Ein Tut interchanges on Tuesday morning. Emergency services responded to the scene, with Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics treating and evacuating 18 individuals who sustained minor injuries.
Ten of the injured were transported to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, while the remaining eight were treated at the scene. The accident initially led to the complete closure of the northbound lanes to allow for rescue operations and investigation.
Following the initial response, two of the three northbound lanes were reopened by police. However, authorities reported that heavy traffic congestion persisted in the area despite the lane reopenings. Traffic police and accident investigators were on site managing the situation.
Authorities urged drivers to exercise patience, follow police instructions, and stay updated on traffic arrangements as they worked to clear the scene and normalize traffic flow.
