Israel's National Insurance Institute Sets October 2026 Benefit Payment Schedule

The National Insurance Institute of Israel, known as Bituah Leumi, has announced the payment schedule for October 2026 benefits and the deadlines for insurance contributions. This advance notice allows benefit recipients and insured individuals to prepare for the upcoming financial distributions.

Unlike the previous month, which saw schedule changes due to holidays, October payments are set to revert to their standard dates. Those receiving unemployment benefits and minimum income support will be the first to receive their monthly payments, with funds expected to arrive in their bank accounts on Monday, October 12, 2026.

Following this, child benefits will be disbursed on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. The base amount for the first child is approximately 169 shekels. A significant date for recipients of long-term benefits is Wednesday, October 28, 2026. This date is designated for payments including general disability, old-age pensions, survivor benefits, care allowances, and benefits for disabled children.

Specific benefit amounts for October 2026 include 4,711 shekels for a full general disability payment for one person. The basic old-age pension for a single individual is 1,838 shekels, potentially reaching around 2,757 shekels with maximum seniority allowances.

In addition to benefit payouts, Bituah Leumi has set Thursday, October 15, 2026, as the deadline for employers, the self-employed, and unemployed individuals to report and pay their contributions for national insurance and health insurance. For those not currently employed, this deadline also includes their quarterly payment. Bituah Leumi advises individuals to prepare in advance to ensure timely reporting and payment of these mandatory contributions.
