Israel Eliminates Hamas Northern Gaza Brigade Commander in Airstrike
Israeli airstrikes early Tuesday morning targeted a Hamas military commander in Gaza City, killing Azz al-Din al-Bih, also known as Abu Hamza or "Ashmawi." Al-Bih was the commander of Hamas's Northern Gaza Strip brigade. The strike, which occurred around 3:30 AM local time, involved three "apartment bombs" hitting the Nasr neighborhood in western Gaza City.
This marks the third Hamas brigade commander to be eliminated by Israel within the past two and a half weeks. Previously, the commanders of the Rafah and Khan Yunis brigades were killed. These targeted killings follow the reported capture of a senior Hamas security official, Mu'een al-Arabeed.
The Israeli military has not officially commented on the strike.
