Baby Chokes on Sukkah Decoration, Narrowly Escapes Death

An eight-month-old baby boy from Netivot was miraculously saved after choking on a plastic diamond from a Sukkah decoration during the Sukkot holiday. Senior MDA paramedic Uriel Cohen responded to an emergency call late at night and found the infant in a life-threatening choking condition in the building's plaza.

Cohen, speaking about the incident, described receiving the emergency call about the choking baby. Upon arriving at the scene, he quickly identified the infant in severe distress. "I immediately performed several actions on him until I managed to remove the foreign object from his mouth," Cohen stated. He further detailed the baby's critical state, noting he was experiencing respiratory distress and had a bluish complexion before the object was dislodged.

The small plastic diamond, which had detached from a Sukkah decoration, was identified as the cause of the near-fatal incident. What appeared to be an innocent holiday ornament became a deadly trap for the infant, highlighting the potential dangers of small decorative items around young children.
