Paramedic Saves Infant Choking on Sukkah Decoration
A baby's life was saved by a Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedic after he choked on a decoration from a sukkah, a temporary hut erected for the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. The incident occurred during the holiday period.
The paramedic, identified as Yishai Shlomo, was on his way home when he heard a commotion and saw a distressed family. Upon arriving at the scene, he found the infant unconscious and not breathing. Shlomo immediately administered first aid, performing the Heimlich maneuver on the baby.
His quick actions successfully dislodged the obstruction, and the baby began to breathe again. Emergency medical services were called to the scene, and the infant was transported to the hospital for further observation. The family expressed their profound gratitude to Shlomo for his life-saving intervention.
