Border Police Arrest Jerusalem Truck Driver Suspected of Stealing Vehicles

Border Police forces in the Central District apprehended a tow truck driver late last night on Route 444, suspected of stealing three vehicles from the central region and transporting them towards the Rantis crossing into the West Bank. During the operation, volunteers observed a tow truck carrying two cars and a motorcycle heading towards the crossing. The driver's behavior, including repeatedly circling traffic signals and obstructing traffic, raised suspicions.

The driver claimed he was collecting the vehicles from Rishon LeZion and Rehovot as part of his towing job. However, police contacted the vehicle owners, who confirmed they had not requested towing services and their vehicles were taken without their knowledge. Following confirmation of the suspected theft, Border Police arrested the driver, a resident of Jerusalem, and impounded the truck and vehicles. They were taken to the Ras al-Ain police station for further investigation. The stolen vehicles were later returned to their owners.
