Towing Truck Driver Arrested for Stealing Three Cars in Central Israel

A towing truck driver was apprehended by Border Police volunteers overnight between Sunday and Monday on suspicion of stealing three vehicles from central Israel and attempting to transport them into the West Bank. The incident occurred on Route 444 when volunteers noticed a towing truck carrying two cars and a motorcycle heading towards the Rantis crossing.

The driver, who appeared suspicious and hesitated at traffic lights, was stopped for inspection. He claimed to have collected the vehicles from Rishon LeZion and Rehovot as part of his job. However, when contacted, the owners confirmed they had not requested any towing services and were unaware their vehicles had been taken.

Following the confirmation of the suspected theft, the volunteers arrested the driver, a resident of Jerusalem. He was taken along with the truck and the stolen vehicles to the Rosh HaAyin police station for further investigation. The stolen vehicles were subsequently returned to their rightful owners.
