Border Police Arrest Three West Bank Residents for Car Theft Ring

Border Police in the Southern District arrested three suspects over the weekend in connection with a car theft ring operating in central and southern Israel. Two stolen vehicles were recovered during the operation. The arrests followed an investigation initiated by Kiryat Malakhi police, in cooperation with the Southern District's Central Unit and its intelligence division, after suspicions arose of a gang composed of West Bank residents involved in vehicle theft.

Intelligence gathered over the weekend indicated that three members of the gang had entered central Israel for criminal activity. Border Police investigators were deployed and intercepted a stolen vehicle near Kfar Saba, arresting one suspect, a West Bank resident who was in Israel illegally. Shortly after, another stolen car, with a broken window, was spotted near Kfar Saba. When police attempted to stop it, the suspect fled on foot after the vehicle was disabled with tire spikes, but was later apprehended following a search.

A third suspect, described by police as a key figure in the gang responsible for transporting the stolen vehicles, was also located. He fled in another vehicle towards the West Bank, but authorities tracked and arrested him. All three suspects, identified as West Bank residents, were taken to the Southern District's Central Unit for further investigation.

Police stated that their forces and the Border Police will continue to combat gangs involved in vehicle theft, aiming to apprehend suspects and bring them to justice.
