The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a video on September 27 showing a child carrying a weapon into a residential building in the central Gaza Strip. According to the IDF's press service, soldiers operating in the area discovered a militant using the child to transfer the weapon. Army spokespeople stated that the militant exploited the child as a human shield to prevent Israeli forces from striking.

The IDF press service described the incident as "another example of the systematic use of children by terrorist organizations for terrorist purposes." The Israeli military asserted that such actions are carried out "in violation of international law and with the aim of preparing and executing terrorist attacks against IDF forces operating near the border fence, as well as against Israeli civilians."

The IDF also reported that forces from the Southern Command are deployed in the area according to agreement and "will continue to operate to neutralize any immediate threat."
