IDF Releases Footage of Child Used to Smuggle Weapons in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Sunday released video footage from the central Gaza Strip showing a child carrying weapons into a civilian home. The IDF stated that a militant dispatched the child with the armaments in an attempt to circumvent their interception, asserting this constitutes the use of children for terror purposes.

According to the IDF, forces operating in Gaza identified a militant who utilized the child to transfer weapons into the house. The military claims the militant exploited the child as a human shield, intending to prevent forces from attacking and thwarting the weapon transfer. The IDF presented the incident as further evidence of what they describe as the systematic use of children for terror by militant organizations in the Strip.

The IDF contends that this practice violates international law and is part of efforts to advance terror plots against IDF forces operating near the " خط אדום " (red line, referring to the Gaza border fence) and against Israeli civilians. "IDF forces in the Southern Command are deployed in the area according to the agreement and will continue to act to remove any immediate threat," a spokesperson for the IDF said.
