New Poll Shows Netanyahu Leading Prime Minister Race
A new poll released Sunday by Kan News indicates positive developments for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, particularly in his personal standing for the premiership. For the first time in two months, Netanyahu has regained the lead in head-to-head matchups for prime minister. His Likud party also saw a slight increase in support, garnering 21 mandates in the survey.
The poll, released following Netanyahu's address at the United Nations last weekend, shows the leading party remains Benny Gantz's National Unity, though it slightly decreased to 23 mandates. The third-largest party in the Knesset is projected to be "Together" with 11 mandates.
Other parties' projected seat allocations include Democrats and Yisrael Beiteinu each with 9 mandates. Four parties, United Torah Judaism, Shas, Otzma Yehudit, and the Joint List, are each projected to receive 7 mandates. Religious Zionism and Zehut are each polling at 6 mandates, as is Ra'am. The "Am Israel" party and the list of Huldai and Zlicha are each projected to receive 4 mandates.
According to the poll, the two main blocs, excluding Huldai and Zlicha's list, stand at 52 mandates, while Arab parties collectively hold 12 mandates.
