Yuval Hochshter has officially signed with German side Bamberg and will play in the Bundesliga next season. The move was completed through his agent, Nadav Mor, after earlier reports from Sport5 and Channel Sport.
Hochshter, a young forward and the Israeli league’s breakout player of the season, is taking his first step in overseas basketball after a rapid rise. He was named the league’s Discovery of the Season following a strong breakthrough campaign with Ironi Kiryat Ata, and Bamberg said he was joining a club that finished third in Germany last season and will compete in the FIBA Champions League next year.
The player drew interest from several leading Israeli teams, but chose to continue his professional career in Germany. Kiryat Ata viewed him as one of the club’s biggest recent success stories, alongside Ben Saraf, who also won Discovery of the Season and later left the team for Ulm in Germany.
In 25 regular-season games, Hochshter averaged 18.6 minutes, 7.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.
