Israeli forward Yovel Hochstetter, the Super League’s breakthrough player of the season, has agreed to join German club Bamberg for the coming campaign. The transfer was completed through his agent, Nadav Mor, according to the report.
Hochstetter, who starred for Ironi Kiryat Ata, is taking his first step abroad after a rapid rise from the National League to a strong debut season in the Israeli top flight. Bamberg finished third in Germany’s Bundesliga last season and will play in next season’s FIBA Champions League.
The player had attracted interest from several leading Israeli clubs, but opted to continue his professional career in Germany. Kiryat Ata viewed him as one of the club’s biggest success stories in recent years, alongside Ben Saraf, who also won the breakthrough award and later moved from the club to German side Ulm.
In 25 regular-season games, Hochstetter averaged 18.6 minutes, 7.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists.
