Two Children Critically Injured in Separate Riding Accidents

A 10-year-old boy was seriously injured on Sunday in Ashdod after falling from an electric scooter on Jerusalem Boulevard. Paramedics treated him at the scene before transporting him to Assuta Hospital in the city, where he was admitted with a head injury and in a confused state. Shortly after, a 3-year-old toddler suffered a severe head injury while riding a toy vehicle on Avraham Idelson Street in Jerusalem. He was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in the capital.

"The child was lying on the sidewalk, semi-conscious and suffering from severe injuries to his body after slipping while riding an electric scooter," said Magen David Adom paramedic Simcha Chassid, who responded to the Ashdod incident. "We provided him with treatment and evacuated him by intensive care unit to the hospital in serious condition."

These incidents follow a weekend of serious road accidents. On Saturday, a 40-year-old cyclist was killed in a collision with a car on Route 98 in the southern Golan Heights, near the Ramat Magshimim junction. The driver of the private vehicle sustained minor injuries. Police are investigating the circumstances of that crash.

The day before, a 60-year-old man died in a four-vehicle collision on Route 90 in the Jordan Valley. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Two men, aged approximately 60 and 40, were evacuated by helicopter with serious injuries, and a third man, around 30, was moderately injured. Two additional individuals with light injuries were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
