Israeli Forward Idan Zaltser-Zubida Joins Lionel Messi's Inter Miami on Short-Term Deal
Inter Miami, the Major League Soccer (MLS) club co-owned by David Beckham and featuring global superstar Lionel Messi, announced Sunday the signing of Israeli forward Idan Zaltser-Zubida to a short-term contract. The 21-year-old will be included in the senior team's squad for their upcoming away match against Columbus Crew.
Zaltser-Zubida, son of Israeli media personality Ni Zubida, previously played for Inter Miami's reserve team, Inter Miami 2. Before moving to the United States, he was part of the youth academies of Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Maccabi Petah Tikva.
He made his professional debut in the 2024 season with Inter Miami's reserve team in MLS NEXT Pro, recording 18 appearances, three goals, and one assist. In the 2025 season, he improved with 25 appearances, four goals, and seven assists. This season, he became the top scorer for the reserve team with ten goals and an additional assist.
According to the official Inter Miami website, short-term contracts allow MLS teams to temporarily add players from their affiliated clubs for league games, the U.S. Open Cup, CONCACAF Champions League, Canadian Championship, and exhibition matches. If he plays in the upcoming game against Columbus Crew, Zaltser-Zubida could make his senior team debut alongside Lionel Messi.
