Israeli Forward Joins Lionel Messi's Inter Miami on Short-Term Deal
Inter Miami, the Major League Soccer club co-owned by David Beckham and featuring Lionel Messi, announced the signing of Israeli forward Ido Zaltser-Zubida to a short-term contract. The 21-year-old player was previously part of Inter Miami's reserve team, Inter Miami 2.
Zaltser-Zubida, son of media personality Nitzan Zubida, has a background in the youth academies of Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Maccabi Petah Tikva. He is expected to join the first-team squad for their upcoming away match against Columbus Crew.
He made his professional debut in the 2024 season with Inter Miami 2 in the MLS NEXT Pro league. In 2024, he played 18 games, scoring three goals and providing one assist. In 2025, he recorded 25 appearances with four goals and seven assists. This current season, he has emerged as the reserve team's top scorer with ten goals and one assist.
The club's official website explained that short-term contracts under MLS rules allow teams to bring up players from their affiliated reserve teams for matches in MLS, the U.S. Open Cup, CONCACAF Champions League, Canadian Championship, and exhibition games.
