Police Arrest Three Suspects After Highway 6 Chase Over Suspected Smuggling of Palestinians
Police from the Romach unit arrested a driver and two Palestinians from Hebron on suspicion of smuggling undocumented residents into Israel. The suspects were spotted near Beit Guvrin, close to the security barrier, and then drove north on Highway 6.
When the driver ignored police calls to stop, officers launched a vehicle pursuit. During the chase, all three got out of the car and fled on foot.
After a foot chase, police arrested the trio. The vehicle was seized. The case centers on suspicion that the group was involved in transporting illegal entrants, and police are continuing their handling of the investigation.
