Rain Expected in Northern and Central Israel Mid-Sukkot Holiday

The Israeli Meteorological Service forecasts pleasant weather for the first two days of the Sukkot holiday, Sunday and Monday. However, starting Monday evening and continuing through Tuesday and Wednesday, local rain showers are expected, particularly in the north and potentially extending to central Israel. These showers could be locally intense for short periods, especially on Wednesday.

Temperatures will drop on Wednesday, continuing into the second part of the holiday, with highs in Jerusalem and mountainous areas reaching only 23 degrees Celsius (73.4 F), the lowest since last spring. The forecast suggests a possibility of renewed, possibly significant, rainfall during the latter part of the holiday.

Sunday, the first day of Chol HaMoed Sukkot, will be clear to partly cloudy with seasonal temperatures. Monday will be partly cloudy to clear, with a slight rise in temperatures, especially in the south and center, remaining seasonal. Light, occasional local rain is possible in the north.

Tuesday will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with temperatures falling below seasonal averages, particularly in the center and south. Light drizzle or local rain is possible in the north and the coastal plain. Wednesday will be partly cloudy with a further temperature drop and mainly light local rain expected in the north.
