IDF Strikes Hezbollah Weapons Cache in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a strike on a Hezbollah weapons storage facility in the Sudeud region of southern Lebanon on Saturday. The military stated that the target was a weapons depot posing a threat to Israeli forces operating in the area. According to the IDF, the facility stored weapons intended for attacks against soldiers and to counter their activities within the security zone. The strike occurred outside the so-called 'yellow line.'

Following the destruction of the Ali Taher ridge, the IDF is monitoring Hezbollah's activities north of the 'yellow line,' noting the organization's attempts to re-establish its presence. It remains unclear whether this indicates the formation of a new defensive line or preparations for offensive guerrilla operations against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.

The IDF did not disclose the specific types of weaponry at the site or the exact functions of an electronic laboratory located there, though it is speculated to have been used for assembling drones and anti-tank missiles.

An IDF spokesperson stated after the strike, "The Israel Defense Forces will continue to act to eliminate immediate threats." The spokesperson emphasized that any attempts to use Lebanese territory for attacks against Israeli citizens or soldiers would be met with force. Simultaneously, the IDF affirmed its commitment to the agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

Earlier reports indicated that the IDF is preparing for potential attacks from all fronts, anticipating a scenario similar to a past experience but with altered rules of response to a sudden assault.
