Israel Strikes Hezbollah Arms Cache in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a strike early this morning in the Sedjoud area of southern Lebanon, targeting a Hezbollah weapons storage facility. According to the IDF, the facility was used to stockpile various armaments intended for attacks against Israeli soldiers. The strike aimed to neutralize an immediate threat to Israeli military personnel operating in the security zone.

The IDF emphasized that any use of force from Lebanese territory against Israeli civilians or soldiers will be met with a decisive response. Despite the strike, the army stated its continued commitment to the agreement between Israel and Lebanon. The operation was framed as a preemptive measure to prevent threats to Israeli troops in southern Lebanon.

Separately, the IDF is reportedly preparing for a new wave of attacks in Judea and Samaria. Following an incident near the Maccabim checkpoint where an IDF reservist, Neria Leitar, was seriously injured, the military has increased readiness and training for potential further attacks. The Central Command fears the incident could inspire copycat attacks in other areas. Units have raised their alert levels and are conducting drills for various emergency scenarios. Major General Avi Balut, commander of the Central Command, stated that the army has operational plans for different contingencies, which have been practiced extensively based on recent combat experience. He added that the IDF is prepared to act swiftly and maintain the initiative by identifying and thwarting threats early.
