Russian Drone Strike Kills Israeli Teen in Kyiv
A 14-year-old Israeli citizen was killed Friday morning when a Russian drone struck an apartment building in Kyiv, Ukraine's capital. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the death and condemned the attack. Israel's consul in Kyiv and the department for Israelis in distress abroad are handling the case, maintaining contact with the boy's family and providing assistance.
The drone hit the family's home around 8:00 AM, according to the Federation of Jewish Communities in Ukraine. The boy's mother was also injured in the attack and taken for medical treatment. The family had previously immigrated to Israel but returned to Ukraine approximately 20 years ago.
"We condemn the Russian attacks on Ukraine, which cause casualties every day. This is the fifth holiday month of the war, and the communities are trying to maintain routine in the shadow of this incomprehensible reality. We pray for peace and complete redemption soon," the Jewish communities stated. The report also mentioned Russian plans to attack Spain, France, or Italy, and questioned why Russian President Vladimir Putin has not stopped the war in Ukraine.
