Netanyahu Showcases Starlink Device at UN, Criticizing Iranian Censorship

During his address at the United Nations General Assembly, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used visual aids to convey his messages, focusing his criticism on the Iranian regime. Netanyahu presented a special satellite communication device, a Starlink terminal, which he described as a tool that undermines the Iranian government's control over information.

Netanyahu stated, "I will leave this device here so you can pass it to the Iranian delegation, when they defect, they too will be able to tell their story on social media." He highlighted the device's ability to bypass the regime's censorship and provide citizens with free access to the global internet, enabling them to communicate without government obstruction. The compact device, roughly the size of a laptop, integrates a satellite dish and Wi-Fi router, capable of operating on battery power.

Reports suggest that Starlink terminals have been smuggled into Iran in recent months to aid protests and circumvent censorship, with some accounts indicating Israeli involvement in facilitating their transfer. The device poses a significant threat to the Iranian dictatorship by dismantling its monopoly on information and offering a vital channel for dissidents.

Netanyahu expressed hope that the Iranian people would soon be liberated and the current regime would fall. During his speech, the Iranian delegation walked out of the hall, leaving behind a picture of Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in 2020.
