Netanyahu Tells UN Iranians Will Overthrow Regime

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the United Nations General Assembly in New York, asserting that the Iranian regime is a threat to global peace and predicting its eventual downfall. He expressed confidence that "something incredible" will happen in Iran, stating that the "power of the people will defeat those in power" and that the Iranian people will one day achieve freedom. Netanyahu attributed the regime's eventual overthrow to its own "lies, corruption, and cruelty."

Netanyahu highlighted the Iranian authorities' fear of open access to information, noting their significant spending on internet censorship. He cited Starlink as an example of technology that enables independent information access and free communication. The Prime Minister symbolically handed a Starlink device to the UN session's chairman, suggesting it be given to the Iranian delegation so its representatives could freely express their views in the future.

Earlier in his speech, Netanyahu reminded attendees of the October 7th attacks and the ongoing conflict with Iran. He also referred to the decision to neutralize Iran's nuclear facilities as one of the simplest decisions of his premiership, despite its complexity.
