Israel Issues Urgent Recall for Pool Cleaner Due to Fire Risk
Israel's Ministry of Economy and Industry, in conjunction with Mitronics Ltd., has issued an urgent public warning to immediately cease the use and charging of a specific model of rechargeable pool cleaner. The affected product is the Niya Aquasweep S10, a black manual handheld pool vacuum and cleaner with the product code IL-9997301. Manufactured in China by Hongkong Yimu Technology Limited/Lydsto, it was sold in Israel between late April and mid-August.
A failure investigation by the manufacturer revealed that some units have a compromised casing, potentially leading to cracks and water ingress into the motor unit. This defect can cause electrical shorts, severe overheating, and a risk of fire.
Both the Ministry and the importer are urging all owners of this product to stop using and charging it immediately. Until the device is collected, it should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area away from flammable materials and out of reach of children.
