Special Public Transport Service to Tomb of the Patriarchs Announced for Sukkot

A special public transportation service will operate to the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron during the intermediate days of the Sukkot holiday. The service, a joint initiative by Electra Afikim, the Ministry of Transportation, and the National Public Transport Authority, aims to accommodate the large number of visitors expected at the holy site.

The special line, designated as route 201, will run on Monday and Tuesday, September 28 and 29, 2026. It will depart from Teddy Stadium parking lot West in Jerusalem, near Gates 8 and 9, and travel directly to the Tomb of the Patriarchs.

Buses from Jerusalem to Hebron will operate between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM, while the return service from Hebron to Jerusalem will run from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The round-trip fare is set at 29 shekels, with legal discounts applicable. Passengers are advised to pre-load their Rav-Kav cards, as on-site loading will not be available. For those reaching the Jerusalem departure point via public transport, connections are available from the National Buildings via the light rail's L3 line and city bus routes 504, 509, and 531. During the hours route 201 is active, routes 381 and 383 will be canceled.

Visitors arriving by private vehicle will have access to designated parking lots in Kiryat Arba, with shuttle services to the Tomb of the Patriarchs. This initiative follows a trend of increased attendance at holy sites during recent holidays, including the Western Wall, which saw approximately one million visitors for Selichot prayers this year.
