Ben Gvir and police chief order review after officers filmed removing Israeli flags in Kafr Kanna
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir spoke Sunday afternoon with Police Commissioner Lt. Gen. Danny Levi and Northern District Commander Meir Eliyahu after a video circulated on social media from Kafr Kanna showing police officers taking down Israeli flags hung at the site.
According to the report, the three expressed displeasure over the footage and said the circumstances of the incident must be examined in depth. Levi told the minister he views the matter very seriously and ordered a formal review of what happened.
The commissioner also said that if any flaw is found in the conduct of the officers involved, they will be dealt with accordingly. The discussion followed public criticism triggered by the online video, which showed officers removing the flags.
