Oshert Ed Offers New iPhones at Significant Discount

The Israeli retail chain Oshert Ed has launched a new marketing initiative, offering several thousand units of Apple's latest flagship smartphone, the iPhone 18 Pro, through parallel import. The promotion features a single model: the iPhone 18 Pro with 256GB of storage, available in various colors for 4,490 shekels. As of the latest update, the product remains available in most branches, though it has sold out in Kiryat Ono.

The discounted iPhones are available in ten select branches across Israel, including Beer Sheva, Hadera, Kannot, Netanya, Afula, Petah Tikva, Kiryat Ono, Kiryat Bialik, Rishon LeZion, and Talpiot in Jerusalem. This price represents a saving of approximately 909 shekels, or about 17%, compared to major retailers like iDigital and iStore, where the same model retails for between 5,399 and 5,449 shekels. Other retailers, such as KSP, offer the device for around 5,029 shekels.

Oshert Ed's focus on the 256GB version allows them to offer a substantial discount on this popular configuration. The imported devices include both American and Japanese versions. The American model lacks a physical SIM tray, relying solely on eSIM, which frees up internal space for a larger battery. The Japanese model retains a traditional SIM tray alongside eSIM support, catering to users who prefer physical SIM cards.

This is not the first time Oshert Ed has made headlines with discounted Apple products. A similar promotion occurred during the launch of the iPhone 17 series, where they offered thousands of units at competitive prices, significantly undercutting other retailers. This strategy, termed "Hunting," involves identifying and offering highly attractive deals on select products outside their usual grocery offerings, such as electronics and small appliances.

Beyond the direct profit from smartphone sales, these promotions serve as a marketing tool to attract a diverse customer base to their stores, with the aim of encouraging additional grocery purchases. Oshert Ed assures customers that despite being parallel imports, the devices undergo compatibility checks and come with official warranty service through DCS, an Apple-authorized lab in Israel, demonstrating the Israeli consumer's demand for more affordable alternatives.
