New iPhone 18 Sales Launch in Israel Amid High Demand
Electronics retailer "Machsanei Hashmal" has commenced sales of the new iPhone 18 in Israel, coinciding with the global launch. Hundreds of devices are available across its branches, with the Pro Max 256GB model already having very limited stock remaining. The launch occurred on Friday, September 18th, at 8:00 AM, with a significant initial inventory of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models.
Some of these devices are allocated to customers who pre-ordered or opted for home delivery. Approximately half of the initial stock will be distributed to 30 "Machsanei Hashmal" stores nationwide, allowing customers to purchase and take the device immediately, subject to availability.
Early sales data indicates the Pro Max model is the most sought after, and the "Burgundy" color is the most popular choice for both iPhone 18 models. Analysis of sales data also reveals consumer purchasing habits: 65% of recent transactions involved trading in an old device, and 85% of purchases were spread over more than 18 installments. This suggests that for many buyers, the decision to upgrade to a new iPhone, priced over 5,000 shekels, is influenced by the trade-in value of their current phone and extended payment plans to manage monthly expenses.
Geographically, Eilat accounted for 26% of pre-orders, followed by Tel Aviv and the central region with 21%, Netanya and the Sharon region with 18%, Haifa and the Krayot area with 16%, and the northern region with 6%. The iPhone 18 Pro 256GB is priced at 5,029 shekels, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max 256GB costs 5,679 shekels.
