Israeli Retailers Launch Price War for New iPhones Ahead of Official Launch

Even before Apple's latest iPhone 18 models officially land in Israel on September 18, retailers have ignited a price war for pre-orders. This competitive scramble is a common occurrence following the announcement of new smartphone lines, with electronics and cellular chains offering early-bird incentives.

The foldable iPhone Duo, also unveiled recently, will see its official sales begin on October 23, with pre-orders opening on October 16. Retailers like Mahsaney Hashmal have already started accepting reservations online and in stores, with payment deferred until after the holidays. Their early-bird offer includes a trade-in program, providing cash back for older devices.

Other major players, including iDigital, Pelephone, Partner, and Dynamic, will open pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models during the Rosh Hashanah holiday, starting September 12. iDigital will also accept registrations at its branches in Nazareth, Rishon LeZion, and Eilat, and will feature a trade-in option. Pelephone is sweetening its deal with lifetime warranty, a free backup battery, and discounts on Apple accessories, in addition to trade-ins. Partner is promoting an enhanced trade-in deal and a significant discount on Apple Watches.

Indications of pricing have also emerged. The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to start around 5,300 to 5,400 shekels for the 256GB model, potentially reaching 9,500 to 10,600 shekels for the 2TB version. Prices for the iPhone 18 Pro Max are projected to range from 5,800 to 10,900 shekels at Mahsaney Hashmal, and 6,000 to 10,000 shekels at Pelephone. The foldable iPhone Duo is anticipated to cost between 8,200 and 12,200 shekels, depending on storage capacity.
