Fire Destroys 10 Torah Scrolls in Jerusalem Synagogue
A fire broke out in a synagogue on Sha'arei Pinah Street in Jerusalem on Tuesday, causing significant damage and destroying ten Torah scrolls. Firefighters who were dispatched to the scene conducted rapid searches and confirmed no one was trapped inside the burning building.
During the firefighting efforts, teams rescued several Torah scrolls from the blaze. The incident commander, Shai Nehemia, stated, "The firefighters acted with determination in the developing fire at the synagogue and conducted rapid searches that ruled out the presence of trapped individuals. During the operations, the teams rescued a number of Torah scrolls from the fire. At this stage, we are concentrating efforts on final extinguishment, and the event is nearing containment."
