Nissan Unveils Pixo EV, A Reimagined Renault Twingo Sister Model

Nissan has revealed its new electric mini-car, the Pixo, a counterpart to the recently unveiled Renault Twingo. The Pixo shares the Twingo's four-seat configuration and retro-inspired design elements, though it adopts a more modern aesthetic with distinct "pixel"-themed lighting and body details. This marks Nissan's re-entry into the mini-car segment, recalling its previous Pixo model sold between 2008 and 2013, which was a badge-engineered Suzuki Alto.

The Pixo measures 3.80 meters long, 1.79 meters wide, and 1.51 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2.49 meters, closely mirroring the Twingo's dimensions. It offers a cargo space of 356 liters with the rear seats folded forward and boasts a tight turning radius of 9.9 meters.

Inside, the Pixo's cabin is largely identical to the Twingo's, featuring a minimalist design with two individual rear seats that slide to optimize cargo or passenger space. Notable interior details include "Easter eggs" referencing Nissan's name in Japanese and "Pixo" badging on gray trim pieces. The infotainment system is powered by Google, featuring a 10-inch touchscreen with Gemini assistant capabilities and navigation via Google Maps. A customizable 7-inch digital instrument cluster is also included, with the option to display navigation from Waze. Standard safety features are present, along with adaptive cruise control and an optional automatic parking system.

The Pixo is equipped with a 60 kW (82 hp) electric motor, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in over 12 seconds. It features a 27.5 kWh LFP battery offering a range of 259 km. Charging capabilities include 11 kW home charging and 50 kW fast charging, which can replenish the battery from 15% to 80% in 28 minutes. The vehicle also supports single-pedal driving from acceleration to a complete stop.
