Nissan Revives Pixo Name for New Electric City Car

Nissan is set to reintroduce the Pixo nameplate for a new all-electric city car, expected to be unveiled on September 23rd. This upcoming model is based on the Renault Twingo Electric, positioning it below the recently updated Nissan Micra Electric, which is essentially a rebadged Renault 5 E-Tech.

The original Nissan Pixo was a compact car produced from 2008 to 2013, developed in partnership with Suzuki and based on the Alto. The new electric Pixo will be manufactured in France at Renault's factories, sharing its platform and likely its specifications with the Twingo Electric.

While full details are forthcoming, it is anticipated that the new Pixo will mirror the Twingo Electric's dimensions: 3.79 meters long, 1.72 meters wide, and 1.49 meters high, with a 2.49-meter wheelbase and a 305-liter cargo capacity. The powertrain is expected to be front-wheel drive, producing 82 horsepower, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.1 seconds, and drawing energy from a 27.5 kWh battery offering a range of 263 kilometers.
