Petah Tikva Residents Most Satisfied With City Services, Survey Finds

Residents of Petah Tikva report the highest satisfaction with their municipal government among major Israeli cities, according to a public opinion survey on local authorities. The survey, part of a broader social survey conducted last year, found Rishon LeZion in second place and Tel Aviv in third. Conversely, Ashdod, Haifa, and Bnei Brak registered the lowest levels of resident satisfaction with their city councils.

Overall, the survey indicated that two-thirds of the population rated their local government's performance as "good" or "very good." A significant gap was observed between Jewish respondents, 69% of whom expressed satisfaction, and Arab respondents, where only 53% gave positive ratings to their local authorities.

Petah Tikva achieved an 85% satisfaction rate, a substantial increase from a decade ago when only 61% of its residents were satisfied. Rishon LeZion followed with 81% satisfaction, also an increase from 71% in 2015. Tel Aviv ranked third with 76% satisfaction, a slight decrease from 2015 when it led the rankings at 75%. Other cities included in the survey were Beersheba (72%), Netanya (71%), Jerusalem (68% overall, 70% among Jewish residents), Haifa and Bnei Brak (56%), and Ashdod (51%).
